Growing Scouting

Scouting provides huge benefits to the young people who take part, giving them opportunities to build skills for life, make friends and have fun! We’re working to grow Scouting even further, to ensure every young person has the opportunity to get involved in Scouting. On this page we’ve outlined the resources and support we have for Growing Scouting in Scotland.

Growing Your Group

Get more volunteers involved

Spread the word about Scouts and make a great impression, so people receive a warm welcome and keep coming back for more adventures.

Reach further into your community

Furthering reach is supporting your local Scout group to be open and inclusive to the community that feeds into it.

Get more young people involved

Bring the benefits of Scouts to more young people in your area – and learn how to give your existing members the best possible experience

Start a new section

Identify what your community needs before you start planning something new – so more people can benefit from everything being a Scout brings

Poverty Proofing Scouting

Families across Scotland will be facing the challenge of rising costs more and more over the next year. Our challenge as volunteers – no matter our role – is to make sure cost is never a barrier to young people participating in Scouts.
