SUMMARY:ScotJam Explorers 2027
DESCRIPTION:Calling all Explorers! ScotJam Explorers is making a triumphant return to Scout Adventures Lochgoilhead this summer. Get ready for an even bigger and better adventure than ever before! \nWhat is the event all about?\nWe’re taking things to the next level. We’ve got seven different week-long programmes that participants can choose from – each programme will lead to a different set of Badges at the end and most also lead to a National Governing Body award. This means that Explorers can choose their own adventure. \nAdventure Week: For those new to Explorers or who are unsure what to specialise in\, all your usual Lochgoilhead activity favourites but enhanced for this week. This could be sailing down to our bigger more challenging shoreside crag with brilliant views or a full mountain day on one of the surrounding scenic Arrochar Alps. \nWalking Expedition: This is ideal if you are looking to complete the expedition element of the Duke of Edinburgh Silver Award or the Chief Scouts Diamond Award. You’ll start the week by planning your own expedition route\, set off on your chosen adventure and wrap up the expedition with a group debrief on Friday morning. \nPaddlesport Skills Week: We’ll focus on improving your paddling skills by introducing\, exploring\, and practicing simple strategies and safe techniques\, that will enable you to solve common paddling issues. \nSail and Power Week: Over the course of the week\, you will work towards achieving the RYA Youth Sailing Scheme Stage 2 Award and the RYA Level 2 Powerboat Award. \nHills and Rock Skills Week: Over the course of the week\, you will work towards gaining two Mountain Training awards. This week is ideal for anyone who wants to explore the hills and crags that surround Scout Adventures Lochgoilhead. \nBushcraft Week: A much more chilled and relaxed week. Throughout the week you will have chance to develop your practical skills and try some different bushcraft techniques. You will also get chance to try out some different natural shelters. \nYounger Leader Training Week: What to develop your leaderships skills and make a difference in your local Scout Group? This immersive programme will equip you with essential skills through hands-on activities and challenges. Over the course of the week you’ll complete the learning for all modules within the Young Leaders’ Scheme. \n  \nAs part of our Promise to the Planet we’re encouraging Explorers to make use of their National Entitlement/ Young Scot Card and use public transport to get to Scout Adventures Lochgoilhead. We’ll be running shuttle buses from local bus stops and train stations. Further details will be shared after booking. \n  \nWho can attend?\nThe event is open to all Explorers. Bookings can be made as individuals or as Explorer Units. \n  \nCost & How to Book?\nFor any questions about ScotJam: Explorers\, please contact the ScotJam Team at scotjam@scouts.scot.
